Computer World Services, Corp. (CWS)'s humble beginning started in 1990 as a part-time operation out of a basement, providing third party maintenance and support services for computer equipment, as well as Local Area Networks (LAN) and servers. Over the next five years, we expanded our business to become a true integrator and a VAR based on customer demand to find a reliable and trustworthy one stop shop that they can call their "go-to" company.
By 2000, as our customers pursued solutions for network expansion and conversion to new Internet Protocol (IP) networks and infrastructure, CWS strategically expanded into Wide Area Networks (WAN) and IP networking by investing heavily into Cisco Systems, Inc. as a professional services partner. As an early adaptor and provider of true IP-based networks and other infrastructure integration and support services, we continued to organically grow, free of any debt and / or outside investors – allowing us to maintain our culture of investing in our people, which, in turn, provided continual highly reliable and successful service delivery and customer satisfaction.
By 2005, CWS expanded into the US Department of Defense (DoD) environment through our outstanding reputation and impressive past performance. Notably, we became a "go-to" small business for the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Network and Infrastructure support and service needs for our prime contractor. Ultimately, this led CWS to become a successful firm in the DoD's Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP).
By 2010, CWS became DCAA approved in our accounting system, as well as ISO-9000 certified, and became an SBA certified HUBZone firm – a direct result of its MPP and continue success with its customer’s mission.
In 2015, CWS broadened its capabilities by expanding into Software Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Application Development using Agile methodology, as well as cloud-based support services. These capabilities have allowed us to further develop our IT capabilities to support our current customers across their enterprise requirements.
Furthermore, due to our expansive past performance, we have won major contract vehicles and other prime work – stretching out our presence beyond the DoD space and into the US Department of State and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
CWS has been 26 years in the making and we are very proud to serve every one of our customers, while looking forward to future opportunities to support our clients’ missions.
